Snook and Redfish Hit Hard

Barry, Sam, and Hanna, Sarasota were out to have a great everglades fishing day. They did. Fishing was very slow the past two days but they caught some redfish, trout, snook, and black drum. Most were on the small side but a few made it to the dinner table. Pictured above is Hanna with a nice red and a nice snook. The snook was released due to the emergency closure and was just under the slot limit.

Redfish Slammin

All week we have been slammin those redfish on shrimp and jig. No matter where we went we caught redfish. From Rabbit Key to Harney River there were redfish. There were some snook and a few trout mixed in but the redfish were predominant. Everglades fishing is good.

No oil here

The fishing is great, the weather is great, and there is no oil. So, the everglades fishing is some fine outdoor experience. We are catching snook, trout, redfish, and the rest of them. No tarpon due to their migratory routes.

Check out my photos. Some good everglades fishing.

Snook Hit Shrimp

We went south today to fish for reds and caught everything including trout, reds, sheephead, drum, and snook. Pictured is Ed from Bartow with a nice snook. All the fish were caught on jig and shrimp. The snook were mostly in the 25 inch to 28 inch size but some I estimate that got off were larger. Today the largest red was 27 inches. These fish were caught south of Lostmans River. The waters started getting calmer and more clean and I think that trout will be a good bet in about 2 days. Ed and company came home with a limit of reds and some black drum. A good everglades fishing day.

Reds on the Move

Today we caught a number of reds up to 25 inches. These fish were caught on a jig and shrimp. Most of the fish were caught around Harney River but we caught fish all the way back to Everglades City. Pictured is Tim from Ft. Myers with some nice reds and some black drum and sheephead. We also caught some small snook up to 26 inches but no slot fish. The grass flats were very muddy since the wind blew at about 20 knots so we did not fish for trout. A good everglades fishing day.

Reds and Trout are Biting

June proved to be a great fishing month. There are a few less tarpon around but are still plentiful. The redfish and trout have been abundant and the snook have turned on. Today, Sebastian (10yrs old), Maine, and his grandfather, Robert from Arizona, caught their limit of reds and trout. The largest trout was about 20 inches and the largest red was about 23 inches. Some fine everglades fishing.

Reds and Trout Jigged Again

Sounds like a broken record but the reds, black drum, and trout keep us busy every day. Hugh and family, LaBelle, got some fine eating to do. These reds ate shrimp and jig and the trout ate RipTide jigs. The reds were caught in the Rabbit Key grasses and the trout were caught on the big bank.
Another everglades fishing day.
