Plan Now for Tarpon

One more month till the tarpon start showing up!  Everglades fishing for tarpon is unique for this Everglades fishing guide in that I hunt for them in the most remote part of the Park.  Once I locate them I put down the troll motor and start plug casting for them.  Most Everglades tarpon here are sight casted.  Everglades tarpon start showing up when those cold fronts stall out in North Florida and our waters start warming up.  If tarpon are your game better call and get the best tides for them.  This Everglades fishing charters has some dates open for the best tides but not for long.

Redfish Again

Here we go again.  Everglades fishing at its finest.  More Everglades redfish.  Mike and friends landed a few redfish up to 28 inches.  They got their limit but it was a tough day.  This Everglades fishing charter earned its pay today with 25 knot winds.  We could not cover the grounds I wanted to because of the wind but we managed to catch quite a few trout along with the redfish.  Snook were a little scarce today.

Trout are In

Now is the time to get your trout.  Saturday was a big trout day with limits of trout.  Calm seas and favorable temperatures made for a nice day for Everglades fishing.  These trout were caught from the flats off of Highlands Beach all the way to the flats just north of Pavilion Key.  Red headed gray Rip Tide jigs did the trick for me but most jigs will work.  As an Everglades City fishing guide I can't reveal my secrets but for trout there really were no secrets on Saturday.  Everybody caught trout.  One more month before you can keep an Everglades snook.
