Good Everglades Fishing Day

Jim and company, Minnesota, had a very good everglades fishing day. They caught some nice trout with most above 20 inches, redfish up to 27 inches, and snook up to 30 inches, all in muddy waters. This was due to the blow we have been having for the last week. Didn't stop Jim. See photo of 30 incher. All snook were released. A happy everglades fishing charter. Fish fry tonight. Call this everglades fishing guide.

SNOOK!

Travis and dad, Darrell, Houston, caught some fine everglades snook and redfish today.  Largest snook was 36 inches and largest redfish was 24 inches.  Pictured is Travis with a fine 32 inch snook and a 23 inch redfish.  No picture of the 36 incher as we had to get it back into the water ASAP as it put up a long fight and Darrell suggested to release it fast.  We fished near Bird Key.  Call this Everglades fishing guide for an everglades fishing experience.

Everglades fishing for snook

We caught snook and reds all day long.  Mat (Orlando), Eric (Wauchula), and Ed (Bartow) were a happy Everglades fishing charter.  The keeper sized snook were released and the keeper sized redfish were kept for a fine fried fish dinner.  Why, this Everglades fishing charter made me catch a 30 inch snook as seen in the photo. Yesterday, these anglers got plenty of trout from 18 inches up to 22 inches so they did not keep trout today.  Guide David also got in on the action with a juvenile tarpon caught at my dock to complete his grand slam for today, see photo.  Call this Everglades fishing guide.

Everglades Tarpon

Garland and 12 year old son Gabriel, Ft. Lauderdale, got into everglades fishing with some spooky tarpon today. They jumped 3 tarpon with one on the hook about 15 minutes before spitting the lure at the boat. They got several strikes. Artificial lures were used and we fished near the Shark River. Call this everglades fishing guide.

Everglades Redfish

Today, Brian, Jeff, and Bill, Vero Beach and Plant City, had a very nice Everglades fishing morning in the Ten Thousand Islands, north of Everglades City.  They limited out on redfish and all were 26 inches on the line, the makings of a fine redfish dinner.  I only put one photo (Brian) since all were the same size.  Also, some nice snook were caught and released, some charged the mangroves and cut off.  The fish were caught on cut bait near Fakahatchee Bay.  A happy Everglades fishing charter.  Call this everglades fishing guide.

Everglades fishing for Reds and Snook

We fished hard today and started with Everglades trout near Plover and got some 20 inchers.  We also fished south of Plover and got more.  My party, Joe and Evan, Georgia, enjoyed those everglades trout but we wanted everglades snook and everglades redfish to go along with the trout.  We went after bait and got some mullet near Bird Key with a cast net and went to "chunkin".  This means we cut up the mullet into bite sized pieces for those everglades snook and redfish.  We put them on a 3/8 ounce jig and a circle hook and proceeded to "chunk" them out there.  Well, nothing.  We moved and moved and moved.  All the way to Rogers River and nothing.  Everglades fishing let us down?  No way.  The waters were beautiful, green clear and some chalky color.  This was excellent color.  I hate clear water as the fish can see the boat from 100 feet away.  Everglades fishing, everglades fishing, everglades fishing, did you abandon us?  No!  Well, the wind shifted and went from 10 knots to 20 knots out of the southwest.  Misery!  What a ride!  Three foot rollers does not agree with a 20 flats boat.  We slowed down and started fishing one mangrove clump at a time.  Success.  We got into some nice everglades snook and some nice everglades redfish along the beaches from Lostmans River all the way to Graveyard Point.  What a happy Everglades fishing charter this turned out to be.  We ended up with some very nice everglades trout and some nice everglades redfish and snook.  I will repeat this again tomorrow, only I can do this closer to home.  Call this everglades fishing guide.

Snook Closed.

We fished for Everglades snook and redfish today.  Carlos, Philip, and Michael, Palm Beach, caught some respectable snook and reds.  Everglades fishing was tough but this everglades fishing charter came through.
We caught all fish on shrimp with a jig and popping cork.  Cut bait did not work as in the past 2 weeks.  We also caught some keeper trout but all fish were released except for one redfish for supper.  Remember, snook season is closed and all must be released.  Call this everglades fishing guide.
