Everglades Snook

Lee, from Naples, got plenty of action today with redfish and snook. The trout and snook had to be released due to closed season. However, pictured is Lee with a nice 33 inch snook caught on a jig near Lostmans River. He and company went home with a nice bag of redfish, sheephead, and black drum. A rainy morning ended up with a fine everglades fishing day.

Snook and Redfish

The past 2 days were some good everglades fishing days for Eliot and company. Pictured is a 27 inch snook and some nice redfish up to 28 inches caught on live bait and shrimp near Pavilion Key. Windy weather didn't stop the good everglades fishing. Quite a few reds were caught between Chatham River and Everglades City, mostly on jig and shrimp.

First Snook

A limit of redfish and many more slot reds released tells about the day Hugh, Jason, and son John had this day. Most fish were caught near Rogers River but everywhere we stopped produced some nice fish. The catch this day also include a nice flounder as well. All were caught on a jig and shrimp. Pictured is 13 year old (6ft. 1in.) John with his very first snook. A good beginning and a very good everglades fishing day.

Doledrum Days of August

Or, should I say red drum (redfish) days of August. It may be hot but so is everglades fishing. Today was the day for Xristos, Penn. He is pictured with a nice 32 inch, 10lb, redfish. His brother-in-law, Bill caught this nice 23 inch red which made it to the dinner table. Not pictured is Jim, OH., who caught several slot limit redfish. These anglers also caught some nice trout as well. Today we fished north of Lostmans River.

Everglades Snook in May

It's that time of year when the snook are on the move to the passes and beaches for the spawning season. Today, we caught some nice snook near Chatham River on gold reflecto spoons. Pictured are George and Dick, Mo., with a 29 and 30 inch snook. They caught several snook this morning all on the gold spoon. They were fly fishing but only small reds were interested. A good everglades fishing day.
