A Breezy Day

North winds gusting to 20 knots did not stop Andy, Miami, from landing this very nice 24 inch redfish.  Also caught were sea trout and silver trout today.  The fish were caught on jigs and RipTide tails near Chatham River.  A nice Everglades fishing day.

March Everglades Fishing

March is a good month for everglades fishing.  Trout, reds, sheephead, drum, etc all bite good and taste good.  Snook is still closed for now but we have been catching our fair share.  Tarpon showed up but retreated with a cold front last week.  Pictured are Frank and Steve, Wisc., with some sporty size reds and trout.  A few drum were thrown in for luck.  The fish were caught on jigs near Lostmans River.

Reds, Trout, Snook, etc.

A very low tide and breezy weather did not stop Arturo and sons, Coral Springs, from having a good day of everglades fishing.  Many of the reds, drum, and sheephead were small but there was a lot of action most of the day.  The largest red was 30 inches (pictured) and the largest trout was 22 inches.  There was also some snook caught and released.  The red was released.  They went home with a few nice meals of reds, sheephead, and trout.  The fish were caught on shrimp and jigs and artificials near Harney River.

Another Great Everglades Fishing Day

Jim and Dan, Minnesota, had a great day of fishing for reds, trout, black drum, and sheephead.  They wanted a fish fry and that was what they got back home, a good one at that.  Most of the fish were nice size.  Cool weather turned on the bight.  The trout were caught on jigs and the rest were caught on shrimp near Lostmans River.

A fine everglades fishing day.

January Fishing

An everglades fishing day in January means that you have the opportunity to catch redfish, trout, black drum, sheephead, and mangrove snapper for the dinner table.  That is what Lee and company (Naples) did on a fine January day.  The winds were calm and the temperature was about 75 degrees and fishing was great.  The trout were caught on RipTide jigs and the other fish were caught on shrimp, jig, and popping cork.  The fish were caught near Lostmans River.

A Beautiful Everglades Fishing Day

The abundant sunshine and calm breezes made for some fine everglades fishing.  Today, Mike and sons, LaBelle, caught some nice reds and trout.  The trout measured up to 22 inches and were caught on jigs and rubber smoke and rootbear tails.  The reds up to 23 inches were caught on shrimp and popping cork.

Reds and Trout

It was a good everglades fishing day for Elmer, Phil, and Bill, Bradenton.  They caught many trout up to 24 inches on the grass flats from Chatham River down to Rogers River on Rip Tide jigs and popping corks.  The reds were caught on cut bait and popping corks.

A good everglades fishing day.
