No cold, no wind, no storms equal for some great fishing. Lee, Naples, and a 23 year customer lands and releases alive a 30 inch snook. Several more were caught this day but were smaller. Lee also got to take home some good eating reds, trout, sheephead and drum. A great everglades fishing day!

Redfish and Drum
Janice and Capt. Larry (Maine fishing guide) had a hard day fishing the Ten Thousand Islands today due to 20 knot winds. The waters were muddy but we could fish inside the protected islands. Pictured is Janice with a nice 10 lb black drum and a 24 inch redfish all caught on shrimp and jig. The fish were caught near Pavilion Key. Still, a nice Everglades fishing day.

Windy Equals Good Fishing
It was a day to hide in the rivers and backcountry for Tom and Gerard, FL, due to the 25 knot NW winds today. Muddy waters on the outside did not help the fishing. However, we found clean waters to get some nice sheephead, snook, trout, drum, and redfish. They caught their limit up to 27 inches of redfish and several of the rest of the species. The fish were caught on jig and shrimp. A good Everglades fishing day.

Everglades Fishing
Most of the snook are small from 18inches to 28inches. However, there are some big ones around . Or, you can go for something which will pull back such as a nice red or trout. Sharks are turning on now and some you will not be able to stop. Guarranteed.
Go catch some over slot reds, large drum, or big trout up to 27 inches. Who knows, you might net a keeper snook.

Another Great Day
You just can't beat an Everglades Fishing Day. Many reds, snook, black drum, trout, sheephead, and other species were caught this day by Jim and Brandon (Mn). The black drum pictured weighed in at 12 lbs and the redfish was about 17 lbs (37 inches). The redfish was over the slot and was released. Also hooked were large sharks but cut the mono line. It was easy to get their limits. The fish were caught on shrimp and jig and RipTide artificials near Lostmans River.

March is Everglades Fishing Month
It was a good everglades fishing day for Robert (AZ) and Don (FL). They caught their limit of trout up to 27 inches in length. Most were averaging 19 inches. They also caught their limit of redfish up to 24 inches. Black drum were also on the agenda today.

Everglades Snook and Redfish
A day of everglades fishing proved to be a successful day with 78 degree temps and sunny skies with a light breeze. Pictured are Matt with a nice 27 inch redfish and Bob with a nice 27 inch snook, both anglers from Iowa. The fish were caught near the Huston River on cut bait or shrimp. A very good day.

Breezy Conditions Mean Redfish
Another good everglades fishing day. It was a half day of fishing for Bobby and Jim, Naples. Breezy conditions kept us in the backcountry north of Everglades City. It was a morning of redfish, snook, trout, mangrove snapper, and other species. Pictured above are Jim with a 28 inch snook, Bob with a 29 inch redfish, and Capt. Tony with a nice flounder. These were caught on jig and shrimp or cut ladyfish.

Cool Front Heats Up Everglades Fishing
It started out slow for Jim and Bobby, Naples, but once the cool front went through the action picked up. Pictured is Bobby with a couple of nice reds caught on shrimp and jig near the Rogers River. Some snook, trout, black drum, sheephead, and black tip shark were also caught. Also, a pair of 3ft juvenile sawfish were observed working a mud bank. A rare site. It was a good everglades fishing day.

October Great for Everglades Fishing
This month has been a very good fishing month for all the species. Even though the Everglades NP was closed we could still go into the 10,000 Islands and catch reds, snook, goliath grouper, mangrove snapper and other species. These photos, Steve from Crystal River, and, Ron from ND,

Everglades Cobia
This day was a day on the wrecks which are about 7 minutes offshore. There were cobia, goliath grouper, red grouper, lots of spinner and black tip sharks, and other species today. Pictured is Cory, Iowa, with a nice 13 pounder. The wind laid down and made for a nice ride. A very good everglades fishing day.

Late Summer Everglades Fishing
Late summer and early fall bring into the western Everglades an abundance of redfish, black drum, sheephead, snook, and trout. That cooling of the waters turns the fish on. On this date Kevin and Rob, Ft. Lauderdale, caught some nice reds and black drum. The red measured 25" and the drum 24". Both are good table fair. They also caught some very respectable trout on the grass flats near Lostmans River. The trout were caught on new penny rubber jigs and the reds and drum were caught on cut bait and shrimp. Everglades fishing will get even better when we get into October and November.

Grouper in the Everglades
Red grouper can be fun to fish for when you use light tackle heavy enough to get the grouper out of their rock holes but light enough for them to pull drag. Red grouper can be caught using live bait such as pinfish, ladyfish, and white bait and also on artificial such as heavy jigs (6oz) and lures large enough and with lips which can take them to the bottom (30' to 50'). Pictured are 2 red grouper which were about to be filleted. Don't forget to cut out the cheeks! One was 8lbs and the other was 10lbs. These fish were caught in the Gulf of Mexico west of the Everglades National Park about 25 miles out of Everglades City.

Big Everglades Trout
Big trout are around in the everglades. May and June are tarpon and snook months and provide some very good everglades fishing. Noui with friend Pam, Ft. Lauderdale, however, got into some nice 20+ inch trout while fishing for reds and snook. The trout in the picture was nearly 24 inches. Nice!

Tripletail Still Around
Fishing for tripletail in the Everglades is a nearshore or onshore adventure. Any structure will do, even just off the beach. John, SC, caught and released this 9 pounder near Lostmans River. A few more were caught and released. The fish were caught on shrimp and jig. A fine everglades fishing day.

Redfish, Snook, Tarpon for March and April
I spend half of my days fishing for tarpon in April and it is the best. Largest caught and released was a 120lb tarpon on an artificial not made anymore. The fish was caught in the backcountry of Shark River. However, March was a great month for redfish and April is shaping up to be another good one. Not as many fish are caught this month compared to March but they have been larger. A few large snook have been showing up on the outside eager to pounce on an artificial or anything you throw at them. Small ones around too. Everglades fishing at its finest.

A Breezy Day
North winds gusting to 20 knots did not stop Andy, Miami, from landing this very nice 24 inch redfish. Also caught were sea trout and silver trout today. The fish were caught on jigs and RipTide tails near Chatham River. A nice Everglades fishing day.
