A Redfish Day

It is so nice to get into lots of redfish. Most were small up to 18 inches but some rather large ones were "released". Elliot, Bob, and Lea, Marco Island, got into them reds today. The largest caught was 26 inches and it put up a good fight. Lea was the one with the largest red.

A good everglades fishing day.

Redfish Plentiful

Lauris and Margie did not have any problems catching redfish today. Everglades fishing came through again with some over the slot size redfish and some keeper sized redfish. A fine everglades fishing trip.

Reds are Biting

Lee, a regular from Naples, went home with some nice sized reds and sheephead. We caught them on shrimp and jig in the mouth of the Harney River. A popping cork was used to call them in. It was slow but everything we kept was nice. We caught many under sized reds today but those were released. Some nice trout up to 25 inches were also caught but were released due to closed season.

A very nice everglades fishing day.

Cool Front Turn on the Snook and Reds

We started out at 53 degrees this morning and the water was 67 degrees. The cool front made for tough conditions to fish with 20 knot winds and muddy waters but everglades fishing was good. Plenty of places to fish out of the wind. Pete, from Lynn Haven, and Dave, from Vernon, made sure they caught their share of reds and snook. Pete's snook weighed 12 lbs and Dave's red was 4 lbs. All snook were released and a limit of reds went home to the frying pan. These fish hit hard on shrimp and jig and also on fresh cut ladyfish. Most of the fishing was south of Everglades City between Houston and Lostmans Rivers. A fine everglades fishing day.

Reds and Snook Still Slammin

It was another typical everglades fishing day with Stephanie, Dick, and Francis, Miami & Ft. Lauderdale. It was a 50+ redfish day and some nice snook too. All were caught on jib and shrimp or cut ladyfish. We fished near Lostmans River all the way back to Everglades City and caught fish in most of the fishin holes. Pictured is Dick and Francis with snook. Not pictured is Stephanie cause she was too busy catching reds and did not slow down for a photo.
