Redfish and Trout Slammed Jigs

A limit of trout and redfish was fun for Lee and Indi, Naples. The largest trout was 20 inches and the largest redfish was 26 inches. Several reds much larger straightened out the hooks and got away. They were hitting jigs and shrimp. The trout were caught on RipTide lures.

Redfish Busted Shrimp and Ladyfish

It was a great everglades fishing day for catching redfish. Jay and Paul had quite a blast catching oversized and slot size reds. They also went home with a nice bag of trout. The reds were caught with shrimp and cut ladyfish and the trout were caught with rip tide jigs. These fish were caught near Chatham River. The wind blew but it was an east wind and kept the waters clean and the fishing good.

Everglades Tarpon Crashed Plugs Again

They did it again! Greg and Arnold, NH, slammed the big tarpon using plugs. They busted off 3 tarpon and landed 3 in the 125 lb. range. They jumped 8 tarpon total today and all were large.

A great everglades fishing day.

Everglades Tarpon Slamming Plugs

My plugs got a workout today with Greg and Arnold, NH, jumping and catching big everglades tarpon. The smallest was about 70 lbs and the largest caught was over 100 lbs. They jumped 13 tarpon up to about 125 lbs (estimated). We fished in some small creeks connected to the Shark River. They even had 2 on at a time. They also got multiple strikes on a single cast. All was sight casting.

A very good everglades fishing day. No time for photos.

Redfish

This may sound like a broken record but the same thing happens every day. Get your trout then get your reds. Pictured is Mr. Wayne, Tampa, with a nice 25 inch red he caught on jig and shrimp in Chokoloskee Bay. Mr. Wayne and company also caught some nice trout and more reds over the last 3 days.
